Art & Architecture
Architecture is built in mind for floods and high tides. The buildings bases are, by law, are built on sturdy brick stilts, and elevated 6-7 feet off the ground. Walls are made of packed mud bricks, mangrove woods, and bricks.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
It is considered unwise to walk outside wearing long dresses or skirts. Pants, trousers, and other close-fitting garments are better for the dangerous environment. When waters rise, then everyone stays inside and away from the tides.
Common Myths and Legends
Mayusi of the rivers is one of the most well known Kaka'ateme myth in and out of Alka'Klo. Mayusi is said to have saved two boys from drowning in the swamps, and while he rescued the boys, he never resurfaced himself.
