The Lunar Towers

The triplets stand tall along the Ortheian coast, e'er watching their creators. The moons, high and lofty, watch o'er us, too.
— A lunar cult member
The Lunar Towers are three large spires of unknown origin with colours that represent Acate's three moons. People assumed someone or something must have made them for a purpose and started a religion worshipping the spirits of the moons themselves.

Purpose

No one knows when the Lunar Towers were built, or why they were built originally, but since they were discovered they have been used as a place to get closer to the moons and worship them and the spirit within them. In the First Age, blood sacrifices of small animals that represented the night were performed. Nocturnal birds and crepuscular mammals were commonly sacrificed on crudely made altars. In the current day, however, people have begun to shy away from needless bloodshed and instead keep these animals as familiars while they burn incense and chant to the skies.

The most common times that these cultists assemble are at each stage of the lunar cycles, especially the first of every month. Most rituals are done on the flat rooftops, where the moons are visible over the waters of the ocean.

Architecture

Each tower is made out of a strange, dark purple stone that glitters in the moons' light, especially at night. At the top of each of them, there is a large symbol that represents each moon. The architecture is unlike any have seen before, leading people to speculate that gods or the moons themselves made the Towers.

Special Properties

At the top of the middle tower, there is a deep carving into the roof's top, lined with a white substance nicknamed 'moonstone'. No one quite knows what it does, but every once in a while, someone sees a humanoid with huge, rabbit-like ears at the top of the tower, only to see them vanish just as quickly as they were seen.
