Blackscale Drakonids

The Blackscale? We don't go after them. Not only are they above ground, where we try to avoid being due to the increased fallout, but they're much worse than just dealing with the ghouls down here. I'd deal with deadly cave lizards than blood-mad religious lizards any day of the decade.
— Mirenna, Dwarven Quartermaster
The Blackscale Drakonids are a group of Drakonids devoted wholly to worshipping Wrache and embracing the power he gives them by being devoted to him and only him.

Courtship Traditions

Female Blackscale are seen as little more than childbearers for their clans, and are often used as such by the leaders and generals of said clan. Extremely rarely does courtship between male and female Blackscale happen, and when it does, it's usually more like a business transaction to the woman's father or the leader of the clan. The female then lives with her 'husband' until he decides to sell her or dies.

Courtship between males isn't common, but is much more common than courtship between a male and a female. Males often see each other on the battlefield more often than not, and if one is impressed by another, they can ask if the other wants to get 'more personal'. If they accept, they become 'partners', where they will fight alongside one another rather than with other Blackscale and might even move in with one another.

Shared Values

The Blackscale are characterised by worshipping their god Wrache blindly and allowing him to use them as a force of evil and destruction. They border the elven Ortheian Kingdom and the Eurekan Empire and send out raids against their smaller settlements consistently to gain resources. Both have since increased their defenses considerably, and are now fighting back against the threat of annexation.

Rites of Passage

Birth Rites

Blackscale look at their young when hatched with increased scrutiny than other Drakonids. Any small defects in the egg when laying are signs of weakness, and it is crushed. Feeble scales, smaller body features, or even sometimes just being female is enough for a clan leader to destroy an infant.
