The Great Druid

Working Title for the Magic Wielder of Life. He and his wife, the beauty named the Mother of Harvest, died during the bloody war that ravaged the lands as humanity fought for sovereignty over each other. This event was what lead him to leave his country, and leave the war entirely. That and the added misery that came with being made to heal the injured from the front lines, only to have them return to the front lines and die anyway. He was a healer, and he healed people only to send them to early graves. So he left, bitter and upset at how the humans of the world treated him and his gifts, and once his Wife died to become the Mother of Harvest, forever removed from the plane of life, he grieved. He loathed the humans, and went into the Great Forest outside the main city of his people, and made his home inside. The Forest grew and became his area, away from anything else.   When he first gave his followers the ability to use his Life magic, they were grateful and he took upon apprentices in numbers more abundant than the rest of the Gods. Soon enough, there was not a farmer or medicine man in the city or outskirts that did not know the magics of healing and nourishing. But the humans incessant use of his abilities, forever wanting more from him, put strain on his relationship with his apprentices. Eventually, he abandoned his apprentices altogether, seeking to remain in the city as a last resort healer, not quite ready to leave them just yet. Until the war happened. When it became all too clear that the humans he once thought of and loved as his own were using him to keep the soldiers on the frontline, constantly healing wounded soldiers to send them back out to take more damage in an unending cycle, he snapped. The use of not only him but also his wife put him to the edge, and he came to the conclusion that he gave his people too much. They had become greedy in their teaching, and now? Now they deserved what they brought upon themselves. "If they thought they were invincible because of my or my wife's presence, then the gifts I gave them have taught the wrong lessons of life. It is time they begin to learn on their own."
Every now and then when an animal in his care is on the brink of death, he will spend the last moments by its side, waiting to be reunited with his beloved across the plane, feeling her presence as life is taken from the dying animal and into the beyond. His small moments of happiness.
