Kresacraw Hawks
Hawks rule the country of Kresacraw, having conquered the other Pitarian tribes many years ago. Warfare is intrinsic to their culture, as before they were united, the many small bands of birds always fought for territory. Now, leaders of the nation are also the military leaders, and all Pitarians, male and female, are required to learn warfare starting at age ten. Each subspecies has their own specialty and training.

Shared customary codes and values
Honor and strength are highly valued, and Hawks prefer to do everything straightforward, not behind others backs. For example, if a Hawk dislikes another, they will openly show it. Hawks are ranked by strength, and if they get into a disagreement they cannot settle, a tussle will often erupt, with the winner of the fight getting his or her way.
Common Dress code
Pitarians only wear decorative clothing on special occasions, and many wear armor.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
On the day that Hawks united (conquered) the other Pitarians, there are many ceremonial fighting dances, retellings of the great battles.
Coming of Age Rites
At around eight years of age, Pitarian children battle for the right to lead their clutchmates. They fight only to pin for a minute.
Common Taboos
Hawks are not to mate with other Pitarian subspecies, as this muddies their pure bloodlines.
