Lake Io
Home of fish and friends
As you emerge from the swampy bog of Sharproot Sump, you see the mouth of the delta leading into the green waters of Lake Io, a calm place of chirping crickets and submerged cypress trees. It is easy to see that this natural beauty is teeming with all sorts of life some of which might bear the potential for danger.
Lake Io is a unique, smaller ecosystem compared to others in Habormar. Although not significant alone as a landmark, Lake Io is responsible for collecting the runoff from the Mountains of Divide producing the extensive Sharproot Swamp in the Crag Delta.
Geography
From south to north, the thick mud and estuary of the Sharproot Sump coalesce back into the Io River starting a humid but less slovenly landscape of marshy undergrowth and large cypress trees decorated with tendrils of Spanish moss. The Lake is filled with green-tinted freshwater and next to no backflow from the delta even in flooding seasons. Furthermore, Lake Io is settled in a declination with few elevations and fewer rocky outcrops. To the north, the cypress trees give way to large evergreens and deciduous trees crisscrossed by eddies and streams.
