Fuklan

Fuklan (from the Northern Ecleinian phrase Fukla non, meaning 'one more') is a card game in which the goal is to have a higher number of 'points' than your opponents. It is one of the most popular games of all time. It is played with a standard deck of cards (with the jokers removed, and aces considered the lowest card).   The object of the game is to have more points than your opponents at the end of several rounds. The game starts with two dice being rolled to determine how many rounds the game will have. After this, each player is dealt three cards, and play goes clockwise. A player, during their turn, can either challenge another player to a 'duel', initiate a 'trade' with another player, or draw a card from the deck to end their turn. Each round ends when every player has completed their turn, and the next round begins.   In a 'duel', each of the dueling players place down a card. The card with the higher value wins, and the losing card is handed over to the winner (the order of value goes King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace). In a 'trade', two players may exchange cards. Each of these actions can be taken as many times as a player wishes.   At the end of the last round, there are two choices- either all players can elect to end the game there, with each player counting up the total number of points in their hand (based on the total value of all their cards) or they can go into 'battle', where the players duel each other until only one player is left with all the cards.   The game originated in Ecleinia, specifically in the northern part of the country, where it was popular among the huffabeast travelling merchants, who helped spread the game across the country. Merchants took it all around the globe, and when skyships began dominating the skies, many pilots brought the game with them. This has led to Fuklan becoming an international game, complete with its own world championships, and a global following.
