DYN-138

The DYN-138 is a 6th Generation Loadlifter-class freighter skyship manufactured by North Star Industries. It is designed to carry light freight over moderate distances. It is one of the most common freighters in the world, and is frequently seen in the Ecleinian skies. The ship is made for moderate-speed flying and has the distinction of an entry-level cargo freighter made for beginner or cheap merchants. It was one of the dominant cargo ships, and a sizable number remained even after the debut of 7th-generation skyships.   It was designed as a prototype for a light and fast cargo carrier in 1926, and the design was patented by North Star, who began pumping them out to fill the demands of cargo pilots. As many Ecleinian youth entered the piloting industry in the 30s, North Star was forced to produce even more. The DYN-138 was one of the most popular ships, selling nearly 2,000 units a day in 1933, and remaining a best-seller from 1933 to 1957. By 1958, there were over 123,000 registered and flying DYN-138s, an estimated 15,000 unregistered and flying DYN-138s, and some 20,000 that were out of commission.

Power Generation

The power generation system operates through a combination of fuel usage and a set of retractable solar panels which can be deployed at low speed to allow supplementary power generation.

Propulsion

The DYN-138 has two main engines that pack a combined 600 tons of thrust-propulsion. It also carries a single 6th generation hyperdrive engine, rated for travel up to 3,500 kilometers per jump.

Armor and defense

The DYN-138 has 7-centimeter thick armoring for basic and atmospheric defenses. It also has radar and short-range detection systems.

Communication Tools & Systems

The DYN-138 has a standard comm system and can make contact while in hyperspace. It also has a basic encryption module.
