Director's Briefing

"Agents,   The WHO has passed along a series of incidents involving users logged in to the matrix becoming comatose but with sustained brain activity. Attempts at unplugging these individuals results in pain, spasms, and if the individual's connection is not restored, death. Over 50 of these incidents have been reported in some form of detail, though only three have been corroborated well enough to be pursued. You have been tasked with investigating these cases and establishing what exactly is causing these issues.   Since the invention of the matrix, and in particular since Crash 2.0, reports of bizarre maladies, deaths, or simply unexplainable phenomena have been constant. Most of these end up being unrelated to the matrix in any way, the majority pertaining to separate health issues, either physical or mental. The remainder are generally illicit individuals who have wandered into territories where corporations do not care for reasonable response. I am sure that what you will find will lay somewhere within this realm. That being said, sufficiently compelling false narratives can give rise to disruptive panics that can cause significant harm to the world as a whole - securing evidence of these incidents mundane nature will benefit all parties.   The public has not yet gained wind of these stories and it is imperative that this remains the case until such a time as their concerns can be concretely addressed. The nations involved have at least passing knowledge of the incidents though little concern is being expressed at this time. Please note the necessary travel arrangements for the individual cases and be respectful in your role as an ambassador of The United Nations .   Refer to Taskforce Commander Cameron Decker for operational details. Your contact at the WHO is Hadassa Anar whom you may contact for any additional questions or concerns with the requirements of the mission. "   Wen Zuwing
