The Spring Court (London)
Desire is many things. It motivates us, it debases us. Few understand this better than the Changeling of London's Spring Court who, following in the footsteps of their founder, equally act the part of diplomat and party animal.
Seeking to forget the many terrible things they have seen in the Hedge, the Court of Desire is known for their lavish, some say ostentatious, parties and air-headed hedonism. All the same, they very much are the diplomats they are purported to be, and many keep careful track of the desires of their fellows in the Freehold; it's easier to smooth out the wrinkles when you know what people want.
Structure
Hedonistic pursuits are inherently anarchistic and, taking after their Fae captors, most Changelings are not naturally inclined to impose structure on their own. Still, though the Antler Crown's internal pecking order might be more akin to that of grade school cliques (gossip and all), no courtier would dare question the judgement of their monarch and knighthood is earned, not easily granted.
Public Agenda
The easiest way to forget the horrors of Arcadia is through pleasure, and the Spring court pursues this above all else. Regardless of season, parties of all sorts are thrown throughout London. Few of these are true celebrations, most might better be described as drunken or drug-related gatherings in clubs or, after the clubs close, private homes and trap houses.
It is the Spring Courtier who keeps a better head about themselves, or at least who has more refined tastes, that the other Courts ought pay attention too. Spring is not all celebration, after all. When disagreements within the Freehold rear their ugly head, the Spring Court comes out to settle things peacefully. When injuries abound after a battle it is Spring who arrives to suture the wound, and when a Lost needs someone to talk too in confidence? Spring is there.
We all desire to be healed, physically and mentally, don't we? Even if we can't admit it to ourselves.
Celebrations
The Vessel of Isis
One part wedding, one part gift-giving tradition, one part excuse for debauchery. Spring commemorates their founding with a grand carnival every year.Spirit Night
A surprisingly somber May Eve festival, in which the Spring Court burns the effigy of a Kindly One and symbolically releases their unwanted desires and memories.Assets
The Court of Desire's way of life means that they have many social ties to the mortal world through London's club and party scene. In some cases these ties lead to owning, in whole or in part, local clubs and bars. In others, it means rubbing shoulders with politicians in the back room of somewhere shadier.
At the same time, clubs hide shadier things than backroom political deals. Many of the Spring Court have ties to local drug dealers as both customer and competition.
