Newts are one of the 3 sapient, sentient, antropomorphic main-species in Amphibia

Basic Information

Anatomy

Newts are considered among the physically tallest of the three main species. Unlike the frogs and toads, they are not particularly fast or strong, but can make up for this with their very high intelligence and enormous creativity. Besides their height, Newts differ from the others only with their tail, the length of which is at least two-thirds of their body size.

Newts are at the top of the feudal system in Amphibia, and look down on the others with corresponding snootiness. Mockery, scorn, and discrimination are not uncommon, though they are quicker to grant opportunities to accept someone foreign into their ranks.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Almost every Newt lives in Amphibia's capital, Newtopia.

Average Intelligence

Newts have among the highest levels of education in all of Amphibia, far superior to those of frogs and toads. In Newtopia, they are entitled to a highly respected academic education from an early age, as well as access to Newtopia University. Throughout their lives, most Newts find themselves as high-ranking scholars, professors, mages, and aristocrats. Many others join the Newtopian military.

• Leviathan Family

The Leviathan family is the ruling royal family. The current king is King Andrias Leviathan, who succeeded his father, King Aldrich Leviathan, on the throne after his death. Nothing is known about other ancestors.

History

Newts have always been at the forefront of amphibians. The fact that the royal family also consists of Newts probably contributed to this.
