The Mosattan Jackknives

The Mosattan Jackknives are an illicit gang that hideout in the abandoned ruins of The Lost Kingdom of Mosat. These desert dwellers are as shifty as the dunes of The Great Tentottan Desert that surrounds them and make their coin by trading in illegal goods and taking on extreme contracts.

Expertise

The Jackknives are as harsh as the environment in which they live, but they get the job done and are frequently hired for assassinations, kidnappings, burglary, moving cargo and safeguarding valuable goods out of the public eye. If you pay them well enough they will even provide safe passage through the desert. The Jackknives have a team of Suluca Harvesters who are known for their expertise in tracking down and gathering venom from the large, two tailed Mosattan Scorpions that roam the desert to refine into Suluca, a potent and deadly poison.

Guild Motto

Their guild motto, "Under the shade I flourish", reflects their way of life in all forms. They shelter from the scorching heat of the sun within the shade of sand-swallowed buildings - but they also flourish from the dark and illicit work that they undertake.

Guild Traditions

The guild give their dead a Jackknife Funeral, in which the deceased is placed on a wooden sled and dragged to the top of the tallest sand dune, where thoughts and memories are shared with close members. After the words have passed and it is time to move on, the sled is pushed down the furthest slope of the dune at midday so that the body passes into the desert where hungry scavengers can have an opportunity of life from the one that just passed.
