Redhilts Gang
A guild of fighters originating from the capital city of Orlend who are recognisable by their iconic red weapons.
The Redhilts Gang are a mercenary group originating from Bradstowe, the capital city of Orlend. They are notoriously well known for taking on any task and are often hired for rescue missions, exterminations, executions or simple shake-downs. The Redhilts are a fiercely loyal family and invest their coin back into the raising of their members.
They are currently in control of the Highcross district in the city and they’ve revamped the derelict pub into their unofficial guild hall. They are easy to identify out and about as they wear a dagger with an ornate red grip and a matching jasper pommel.
Fighting Back
They started from nothing but a group of hungry gutterborn families who wanted a better life for their kin and have been trying to fight back against the aristocracy who've kept them on the streets for so long. The Redhilts Gang had been plotting for years on how to stake their claim in Bradstowe. They had already eliminated three rival gangs in the Highcross District and pretty much had the run of the place. All that was missing was to be rid of the law so that they could run their business without any interruptions from the Bradstowe Guard. Their opportunity came during the global chaos of The Rupture when the Redhilts took their chance to claim the Highcross District as their own during the bloodiest fight of Bradstowe, The Highcross Skirmish. Trade and regular markets still continue to thrive, but now operate under strict Redhilt regulation. Law enforcement and rival gang members are welcome to shop here, but they are stripped nude before entering the market, and may only enter with their coin pouch for dignity.Trust your guts, that’s how they stay inside of you.
Aggressively Loyal
They’re only intimidating to strangers and targets. If you’re part of the gang or you’ve got the coin for them, they’ll welcome you with open arms rather than armed to the teeth. They’re very proud of their reputation and see themselves as "Orlend’s loyal problem-solvers". The group have high aspirations and aim to gain an immense reputation from never turning down the hardest jobs in town. They want access to power, even if it means a little brown-nosing to get it. Ultimately, the Redhilts want their own city. They’re gearing up to "liberate" Bradstowe from the existing government but are very open about their plans to take over one of the many ruined cities the world has to offer since the Rupture. They want a place to care for their own, and somewhere that they'll never be treated like dirt ever again.
