The Gravesworn

Ninth Eastweald Division

It is duty.
  • Sergeant Victoria Coldfingers
  • About

The Ninth Eastweald Division, known by some as The Gravesworn due to the ritualistic oaths its soldiers take, is a Forsaken military unit with its headquarters in Andorhal, fighting for the people to secure Forsaken interests across Azeroth and to maintain the rule of law in Lordaeron, opposing anyone who would seek to undermine the Kingdom, be it living, undead or otherwise.

    History

    A Military Reanimated

Following the end of the Fourth War, the Forsaken have split into many factions with different convictions. One such group trying to find their footing in this turmoiled new political landscape was the Deathknell Expeditionary Force, serving the Horde under the command of Executor Oscar 'Jaws' Melton However Jaws was nothing but a puppet of Dark Ranger Alvina, still loyal to her Banshee Queen. After a confusing fight against the Loyalist forces followed by an internal conspiration, Jaws had been executed for treason in Orgrimmar despite being regarded as a hero by some of the Forsaken populace, and the Deathknell Expeditionary Force disbanded. The remaining soldiers who have helped the Horde have been reassigned to the Ninth under the command of Sergeant Victoria Coldfingers, a veteran called back to action after her short lived retirement at the end of the Fourth War. Cautious to any form of fanaticism and believing that only a strong, traditionalist military, headed by technocratic heroes of the people can rule and protect the Forsaken in these uncertain times, these 'Gravesworn' are working together to make that a reality.

    Hallow's End Truce

After a long and tense meeting between key Forsaken commanders and representatives of all kind in the weeks leading up to Hallow's End, a decision has been made to cease hostile activities between different Forsaken groups and individuals, including units such as The Gravesworn, The RotgardeThe Grim Gest and the Hand of Menethil. Electing to direct their focus on the many other threats Lordaeron is facing, The Gravesworn honor this truce more so because of duty rather than personal conviction. However, attending the Macabre Merriment, a Hallow's End party where Forsaken of all kinds had gathered to celebrate their liberation from the Scourge, has made them more willing to stick with this truce past the festive season.

    Notable Members

Sergeant Victoria Coldfingers - A retired veteran forced back into action as the leading figure of the Ninth. Fashionable, militaristic, and serving the people, this woman is no stranger to the rigid structures of the army.   Corporal Imleda Glamrock - A mage with the element of ice at her command. Following the loss of her home in the Undercity, she enlisted in the army to put her skills to use on the battlefield... and her pen to use in the office as Victoria's right-hand person.   Private Hector Madmarrow - An experienced Deathguard taking immense pride in his years of service, willing to lay down his unlife for the Forsaken. Staunch yet stubborn, he is looking to raise through the ranks of his new unit after coming back from retirement.   Private Metalchin - A simple and curious marksman of few words and many bullets, working diligently day in and day out. Thriving in battle, he shies away from small talk and stays focused on the orders.   Chef Butch - An abomination created at the Apothecarium years ago to be a guard in Undercity. New to the outside world, he now serves as a Private in the Ninth. Wanting to offer more than just his combat skills, he has found a new passion in his unlife: cooking.

    Trivia

Upon becoming fully enlisted in the unit, the soldiers of the Ninth must take the Oath of the Grave. The existence of this ceremonial oath is what gives the unit its Gravesworn nickname.
