Ryder Razorfuse

The Cog Captain

"Glory to King Mekkatorque!"
About

Chin up, shoulders back and an assertive posture. Ryder is a dutiful and proud soldier of Gnomeregan, a seasoned veteran mitigated by many battles. He's tall and muscular, a white mane of unkept hair can be seen sticking out of the helm. A long moustache and a furry beard hide the cuts and bruises scattered all over his face. Below his light blue eyes a horizontal scar cuts across his nose. He firmly believes that gnomes were crafted by the titans to be the superior race on Azeroth and he's not afraid of remarking his beliefs out loud. His toxic patriotism make him loathe the enemies of the Alliance... and sometimes his allies as well.

Backgroud

Unlike most of his fellow gnomes, Ryder was born and raised in the dwarven city of Ironforge by two loving parents. His father was a skilled swordsman and he taught Ryder how to use swords, shields, maces, axes and even daggers. His mother wanted a bright and peaceful future inside Ironforge's walls for his son, but that wasn't meant to be. In time, Ryder became an exceptional warrior and was able to duel with the dwarves and even match their physical force, which was quite impressive for a gnome.   His father died at the age of 105, he was attacked by a cultist in Loch Modan. When Ryder heard of the news, he immediately departed for Loch Modan and he managed to find the cultist. That was Ryder's first kill, he cut off his head using his father's sword. After that, he buried his father's body in Loch Modan, just near the lake where he was killed. One year later, Ryder's mother died of a hearth attack. Ryder decided to bury her in Ironforge's cemetery himself. From this point on, Ryder's view of life changed. What was before a life filled with fun and joy, turned into a serious life, sworn to eliminate every cultist from the Eastern Kingdoms. He travelled throughout Khaz Modan, hunting down the cultists from the order that killed his father, he was a reckless machine of destruction, an unstoppable force that could not be stopped until his objective was achieved. Ryder had already killed 14 cultists when he heard of the Northrend journey, Stormwind called him and offered him a spot as a vanguard given his incredible skills in tanking and dealing damage.   He accepted right away and headed to Northrend where he was stationed in Valliance Keep for 5 years-... there he grew accustomed to the undead, killing them and studying their bodies made him an undead expert. When he came back to the Eastern Kingdoms, he didn't have much to do, until he heard of a cultist who was located in Duskwood. He headed there and found out there was an entire order of cultist hiding in the woods. He decided to stay there for a while, he joined a little task force which was supposed to get rid of them, but these cultists were good at hiding and fleeing. In six months they only managed to kill 5. It was around that time that Ryder found out the leader of the order that killed his father was in Duskwood, he had been spotted inside Raven Hill's catacombs. After a week of patient wait in the catacombs, Ryder managed to confront the cultist all by himself. It was probably one of the harshest fights of Ryder's life, but in the end, thanks to his frenzy, he killed him, the same way he killed the cultist that killed his father: beheading him. Ryder knew that was only the beginning, and Duskwood was one of the most dangerous lands in all of the Eastern Kingdoms... so he decided to stay, using his knowledge in the undead field to cull the ghouls and bury the corpses he found around Duskwood. During his time there he also learnt how to deal with another threat: the ferals. Ryder lived in Duskwood for 3 years straight, more specifically in Raven Hill, where he was well known for being the local undertaker, and a friendly gnome to talk to. He did not only bury the dead, but also guarded the crypts from the constant menace of cultists, heretics and felsworns.   Ryder then returned to Ironforge, where he inherited his parents house and joined "The Bound Protectorate", an organization which operates around Azeroth and deals with various issues. He fought for them for an entire year, travelling all over the world, making new friends, climbing ranks and accumulating money.   Nowadays, he's the Cog Captain of the Assemblage of Uld. An organization of gnomes and dwarves dedicated to retrieve titanic artifacts scattered across Azeroth. He fought many battles alongside his titanforged colleagues, against the Horde and those who are still loyal to the Banshee Queen.
