I cannot currently create a new timeline entry on a newly created timeline. The result is a 404 page. If I hit the back button, I can see my entry screen with the data still there, and a green "success you've created a timeline" message at the top, but there is no entry created on the actual timeline. I've been able to reproduce this error multiple times.

Steps to Reproduce

1. create new timeline entry 2. enter timeline data 3. press enter 4. you are taken to a 404 page. 5. the entry is not present on the timeline.

Hello there - I am really sorry but I cannot reproduce this. Can you please give me the exact information and where you are trying to enter them?

  • Are you sure you are not using any special characters?

Hi Dimitris - first, to confirm, no -- no special characters. It's just a bare bones entry to build a character's life events. I just tried again, and I can confirm I have the same 404 page after pressing 'create entry' as of today.   It's a new timeline I created a few days before I submitted the bug report. It has just three entries thus far, no special characters. When I created each of the three, all of them gave the same 404 error page result, but the entry itself still got created. The fourth entry is what caused the bug report because after the 404 page result, the timeline entry is not being created. There are still just three entries. It's been consistently not making an entry since this began.   My steps are: 1) create new history entry that says "Adopts" (without the quotes) 2) Complete a bare bones entry: fill in the title, select the timeline from the drop down, enter a start year - 2210, (skip Significance drop down), enter Type drop down as Life/Milestone, enter "Adopts." (without the quotes) in the Short Description box, press blue 'create historical entry' button.   The resulting page takes me to the screenshot I attached of a 404 page.   Do you have any suggestions or ideas? I've already created two beefy timelines, and had no issues at all. This is my third one, and it's probably been six plus months since I've worked on timelines.   Thanks you, Dimitris!

Hi llkeyes, I finally managed to reproduce this - the issue was removing the "Significance" value from the field. It should always have a value (which is not 100% enforced in the UI). Can you try to create a new timeline entry and choose a Significance ? Let me know if you still get a 404 page.

That was it! Solved! THANK YOU!   So.. I must have skipped 'Significance' it because I couldn't find one that matched my event very well. It was a personal life event, adopting a child. I went with Trivial/Personal. (Although adopting a child is anything but trivial!) Thank you for all your help in getting to the bottom of this. :-)
