I need to unload images, but it doesn't work. I tried to change the size and file type of the image and tried to delete old project images to have more space, but it still won't work. On the click-and-drop box, I can see the loading of the picture I clicked to add, but it disappears, and no image appears after. I can't take a screenshot as the loading happens in one second.

Steps to Reproduce

-Click on the Click and Drop green box -Select image in the file document on the computer -Image appears with loading on top of Click and Drop green box for 1 second -Image with loading disappears -Nothing appears to be added

Hello there - I will need more information if you need help. The system works so the question is how big is the image you are tying to upload, what is its extension and which world.

Hi Dimi! I'm also having this bug. With help from KummerWolfe, I have further info. I attempted to upload a file called mooniyaang as a png and then as a jpg, while logged into "Tales of Justice". I am not the owner there. I had the same experience as The_Natty describes. KW found my uploads over on another world he owns, "Elohey".   File size on "mooniyaang.jpg" is exactly 274,390 bytes according to my operating system directory. My current upper limit is 10.0 MB on single file size.   If you have a means by which I can move my images to the World Anvil where I want them to be, I can fix permissions and add alt text and so on while you're playing Competitive Xylophone Whacking with this bug.

Hi!   Having a similar issue. I can upload some images by using the images tab or by using the green drag-and-drop link.   However, other images will not upload. It's weird to describe, but I have screenshots.

Hey river.foxhaven

  • It seems like you are a free user and not a co-author to any world.
  • Are your images you are trying to upload under the limit for free users?

Hello, I am also having this issue, I am trying to upload several images for the images of characters in my campaign to a shared world I am on. I am using the green drag and drop box, it successfully uploads, and I get a "remove file" over the image with the large "X" icon over it. However, the images doesn't actually seem to get added to the shared world, and as far as I can tell, they haven't shown up on any my own worlds that I have created.   When I refresh the page the images go away from the drag and drop box, however when I try to re-upload them, the upload is nearly instant, which leads me to believe the upload worked correctly, and I'm guessing the code is just checking to see if that image exists already, which if successfully uploaded, would be true.   But, the image is not being added to the actual world, I can't see it under unsorted files or recent files, and I cannot add it to my characters.   For the sake of clarity, I tested this on both Edge, and Firefox.   I have already felt that the image file system was funky for shared worlds, since for example, you cannot send images from any world that you do own, to the shared world, it is never an option in the World drop down list when you are viewing the details of an image.

Update on 9th April 2024: I am still having this problem. Again on Tales of Justice, trying to set up player handouts for the next adventure in which I will be gamemaster for a party that includes user C. B. Ash, and now I have to ask a Player where my plot-spoiler images are and what's the assigned img identification tag so I can try to do stuff like change access permissions, add alt text, and link into Saturday's clues.   One of the images I just attempted to upload is portalcorpgroundlevel.jpg which has a size of 297,065 bytes.   I cannot ask C. B. Ash to confirm for me where the image landed for a minimum of three hours from time of this update, since he is currently in Day Job hours. If you need this info to help you trace down the bug in the code, lmk and I'll find out from him before bedtime.   I hope some of this additional info helps! This sure is a pesky to solve problem in the code!

I am now having this issue to. It's on a shared world that I don't own. But I can upload images to a world I own. (Update: this means I can't use the image as a cover in the shared world, unless I use the image bbcode.)

Update on April 20th 2024: I had the owner of the shared world I am working with upload a couple of images for me that I was wanting to get uploaded. I noticed two things while he was doing so. For one, I noticed that the character images I was trying to upload were showing up for him in one of the worlds he owns that I don't have access to. Which is very strange.   Secondly, when he went to the shared world that we both work on, I noticed that a couple of the images I had uploaded for another world are inside our shared world. I can't transfer it to my world which I wanted it uploaded on. The dropdown does not retain the change when I assign it to a world I own. I think something is very screwed up with how image ownership works, and how image uploads work with shared worlds.
