Ranger Companion Feats
A selection of feats that can be taken by your animal companions, assuming they fulfill the required prerequisite.
Agile Creature: You are exceptionally flexible and agile. You gain the following benefits:
• You can stand up from prone using 5ft.
• You can ignore difficult terrain.
• When you provoke an oppportunity attack, you can use nearby ally creatures as half cover.
Avian Mimicry: Prerequisite: Beast of Air, Avian Creature
Skilled at mimicry and dramatics, you gain the following benefits:
• Increase your Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
• You gain Deception +3 +proficiency and Persuasion +3 +proficiency.
• You can mimic the speech of a humanoid as long as your Ranger understands the language. You can also mimic particular person speaking, but opnly to perfectly repeat words they have said. A successful Wisdom (Insight) check contested by your Charisma (Deception) check allows a listener to determine that the effect is faked.
Crushing Hooves: Prerequisite: Has Hooves
You are practiced in the art of crushing your enemies, granting you the following benefits:
• Increase your Strength or Dexterity by 1, to a maximum of 20.
• Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack that deals bludgeoning damage, you can choose to move it 5 feet to an unoccupied space, and an additional 5ft for each size catagory lower than you.
Durable Beast: Hardy and resilient, you gain the following benefits:
• Increase your Constitution score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
• When you roll a Hit Die to regain hit points, the minimum number of hit points you regain from the roll equals twice your Constitution modifier (minimum of 2).
Fey Mind: Prerequisite: Fey Creature Type
You have learned to protect your mind using the love of your master. You gain the following benefits:
• You gain proficiency in Wisdom saving throws.
• You gain resistance against Sleep and Charm affects.
• You can cast
Misty Step once per short rest.
Fiendish Hide: Prerequisite: Fiendish Creature Type
Your fiendish heritage has reached it's manifested destiny, you gain the following benefits;
• You gain resistance to Fire and Poison, and resistance to nonmagical weapons that are not Silvered.
• Your vision is immune to magical darkness, and your darkvision increases by 30ft.
Hamstringer: Prerequisite: Beast of Earth or Stone
You master the art of hamstringing humanoids, gaining the following benefits;
• When you would hit a creature with two legs, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Rangers spell save DC or be knocked prone.
• If the target succeeds on this saving throw, you still reduce the speed of the target by 10 feet until the start of your next turn.
Lesser Drake: You have the powers of dragons flowing through your veins, You gain the following benefits:
• You gain a form of breath attack, selected from one of the
Dragonborn Breath Attack, you can use this ability once per long rest.
• You gain resistance to the appropriate Draconic resistance.
Natural Camouflage: Your skin has a particular hue of colours that makes it exceedingly easy to hide in underbrush. You gain the following benefits;
• Your Dexterity score increases by one.
• You gain expertise in Stealth.
• Your skin can change hue to aid your ambushes. You can attempt to hide while only lightly obscured.
Rest Guardian: You are always on your guard, whether at rest or on sentry. You gain the following benefits:
• You have a +5 bonus to your passive Wisdom (Perception) score.
• You can’t be surprised while you are conscious.
• You can prevent a number of creatures being surprised equal to your Wisdom modifier.
• Other creatures don’t gain advantage on attack rolls against you as a result of being hidden from you.
Shadowborn: Prerequisite: Shadowfell Creature Type
You came from shadow, and dispite your new bond the shadow has become living.
• Your darkvision increases by 60ft.
• You have resistance to necrotic damage.
• You can cast
Duskwalk once per short rest.
Tough: You’ve trained exclusively in your capacity to last in a fight. You gain the following benefit:
• Your hit point maximum increases by an amount equal to twice your level when you gain this feat. Whenever you gain a level thereafter, your hit point maximum increases by an additional 2 hit points.
Trained Mount: Prerequisite: Large size or greater
You have mastered the combat charge and are deadly in the act, gaining the following benefits;
• Your speed increases by 10 feet.
• You can Dash as a bonus action.
• When subject to an opportunity attack, you can use your riders AC instead of yours.
Well Trained: You have been trained religiously by your Master for a range of tasks not typical for your breed. You gain the following benefit:
• You gain three proficiencies or expertise in two physical skills you are proficient in (Acrobatics, Athletics, Intimidation, Stealth or Survival).
Wild Savagery: You’ve learned to to channel your ancestral fury. You gain the following benefits:
• Once per turn when you roll damage for your attack, you can reroll the weapon’s damage dice and use either total.
