This abjuration resembles the spells protection from vermin or protection from evil, but in this case the caster is protected from the attacks of any of the various amorphous monsters, including slimes, jellies, oozes, puddings, cubes, and slithering trackers. In order to qualify as an amorphous creature, the monster must have an amorphous or fluid body, attack through acids or secretions of some kind, and be native to the Prime Material Plane (as opposed to extraplanar elementals and such creatures). The monster cannot stand the touch of the barrier surrounding the protected character, and its natural attacks automatically fail. If the monster has an innate ranged attack of any kind, these also fail. If the protected character makes an attack against the monster, or if he forces the barrier against the monster, the spell ends and he is no longer protected.
