How to Create Map Lines

With map lines, you can make interactive roads, rivers, and other linear connections between places. While these elements will often already be in the map image, overlaying an interactive line on them will let you display information when someone clicks it. You can also use it to track a character's journey through the world.

Here's how to add a line to your map:

  1. Click the line icon in the toolbar.
  2. Click anywhere on the map to set the line's starting point.
  3. Drag your mouse in whichever direction you want and click again to create a new point to your line. You can add as many points as you want.
  4. Double-click at the spot you want your line to end.
  5. A new panel will appear to choose the line's color, opacity and weight. You can also optionally set the stroke dash size. Click Next when you're done.
  6. In the next panel screen, choose a title. You can also optionally choose a marker group to place it under and add a description.
  7. Click the green "Finish & Create" button.

To edit the line, click on it and then click the edit button. For more information and help with interactive maps, check the Guide to Maps.
