How to generate lists of tagged articles and statblocks

Tags are a secondary organization system that you can use in addition to categories. An article can have as many tags as you want, and you can use them as search terms. In addition to that, you can also generate always-updated lists of all articles with a specific tag and embed them anywhere. Here's how!

How to use tagged article lists

In this guide, we'll use chaotic-good as the example tag (for example, to generate a list of all Chaotic Good characters in your world). Take a look at this example:

[tagged:chaotic-good|list|Chaotic good characters]

Chaotic good characters

Eugene the Unhelpful Udan
Winry Anne
Spark

In the example above, we have three articles tagged chaotic-good in our world. Additionally, though, the tag accepts multiple options (all of them used in the example above). Here's how they work:

  • Tag name (mandatory): this is the name of the tag exactly as it is written in your articles.
  • List type (optional): this can either be list or block. Using block or not using the option will generate article blocks instead of regular links. See how to embed article blocks for more information about article blocks.
  • Header (optional): the header you want to use. If you don't use this option, it will use the tag itself. If you use none, no header will be displayed.

How to use tagged RPG statblock lists

A similar tag exists for statblocks. Take a look at this example:

[taggedblocks:chaotic-good|Chaotic good sheets]

Chaotic good sheets

Eugene the Rogue Udan
Winry Anne, Paladin of the Anvil
Spark the Wizard

As you can see, it looks exactly the same save for the fact that the BBCode tag is taggedblocks. Additionally, statblocks can only be displayed in list format, so this option isn't used.
