The Warrens
A tangled web of abandoned smugglers' tunnels from the days when Estegarde was much smaller and more tightly controlled by the Kingdom's governmental presence. With the growth of the town to its current bustling state, it has become a dumping ground for refuse and waste materials, brought out through the gate colloquially known as the "Sphincter". It was also the home to the very lowest rung of Estegarde's social layers, picking meagre survival from the scraps and junk of others, until recently; these poorest of the poor have fled to equally squalid conditions in other adjoining slums as a nest of verminous monsters has rendered the Warrens completely uninhabitable by people... -
