A Longsword of Legend

Relic Sword given to you as a reward as you are the one most likely to go to battle as you have no obligation to lead the family. The sword was made by the Jotun and given to a great ancestor, there are different stories regarding what he did.
 
 
My favourite story is that he came across a small child being menaced by a Bear and he fought the bear with a hunting dagger and spear. The mid winter was a hard one with little resource available. Once the child was safe and returned home to their mother with some of the bear meat, a gift was offered by her and refused. My ancestor returned home with some of the meat and the skin to use. Days later the child’s father an Joltan arrived with the sword as a thank you to my ancestor for his extreme bravery to save a child not of his village and the kindness of offering parts of the bear to the mother in the hard winter
