Past and relations
Gnarphius is a young minotaur from the great city of Uriar which was built and protected by a group of tribes many years ago. Gnariphius’ clan Labyr’ Anthos is one of the biggest and oldest religious tribes in Hargar and contains many of the big heroes of Uriar.

Labyr’ Anthos praises the god Anthos, the god of war, and the people among the tribe all value respect and honor to be the most important aspects of their way of living, and they use dueling as a way of tributing to their god. Therefore, the tribe is responsible for arranging any turnaments and gladiator-fights that takes place in the arena in Uriar. This is the main place where problems between the religious tribes are settled.

Gnarphius’ dad Thaln Labyr’ Anthos is a blacksmith and works in the market-district, and his mother Mo’ oh Labyr’ Anthos is one of the Valkyries of the inner circle’s defense of the city.
Valkyries are the elite of the female warriors and contains members from all the tribes to somehow connect them into a community, but most of the members are from the tribe praising Anthos.

Gnarphius was taken under the wings by Ungdyr the Great when he was 10 years old and functioned as his squire while he was studying The Will of Anthos which is a way of fighting utilizing the powers one can aquire by praising their god.
Ungdyr is one of the strongest palladins from the Anthos tribe and is one of the big generals of the city, on the side of being part of the city council of Uriar.

The Labyr’ Anthos tribe has been at war with a foreign tribe from the mountains the last 75 years and thousands of the minotaur has fallen during this time. This is the reason why young minotaur is chosen at a young age to learn The Will of Anthos so they can learn to protect the village by threats from the outside while still praising their true god.
When a young palladin turns 18 years old, they take their oath to Anthos and swear to follow his will until they die. When Gnarphius took this oath, he got the duty to guard one of the villages of his tribe outside Uriar called Toga. He spent 5 years of his life in this small town and got well integrated in the social life and even fell in love with a young Valkyrie Sifera Labyr’ Malar from the tribe of hunters.
In year 10124, Toga got attacked by one of the lawless tribes Labyr’ Talona which is the tribe of poison and got burned to the ground after a horrific slaughter. Gnarphius was on the edge of death and only survived the poison arrow that shot him unconscious because he was found in the ruins by an old sage who found him in the ruins and treated his wounds. Gnarphius had to recover for a whole week before he finally woke up only to learn that his friends all had been murdered. The terror overwhelmed the young minotaur and he rushed back to the ruins of Toga where he found the dead body of his beloved Sifera. He found out that only a handful had survived the strife, and he fell in a state of grief that made it impossible for him to honor the ways of war and he ended up forsaking the will of Anthos. He quickly discovered that this didn’t fall in good hands with his tribe, and he was made an outcast of Labyr’ Anthos and is now banned from their districts in Uriar.

Present and goals
Gnarphius is currently roaming the land searching for skills and resources to help him stop war, death and destruction harming innocent people, so that no one may experience the same events as him. His journey has taken him beyond the great mountain lands of The Storm Horns and lead him to Kelpool, where h, in the aftermath of encounters on his adventure, searches for travel companions with common ideals, since it is too dangerous to travel alone.

Quirks and flaws
Gnarphius learned the pleasure of tobacco after abandoning the will of Anthos and Is carrying a pibe made from mammoth bones everywhere, to emphasize the relaxing effect of a break every now and then. He also happily enjoys a good big ol’ barrel of beer after a long day of hard efforts.
Gnarphius knows a lot of religion and that the god in fact exists, but he doesn’t praise them anymore, since he himself has experienced a feeling of betrayal from his god in the great undoing of Toga and therefore believes that gods are deceiving their trustful worshippers.
