September 14th session

by Gob

Ok so BASICALLY...

I’m getting tired of being in charge cuz I’m just trying to slay bodies.

So we got paid for finishing the investigation on Ora, 9000 GP total. We gave 800 to each crew member and the remaining 200 went into the ship fund, which is now at 18,678 GP. Shantu bought a bunch of magic spears, and he way overpaid for them so I jumped on his tab and got myself one of each kind; a fire, an ice and a lightning. They would come in handy later. Also, we bought a ring of whisper for each crew member including Dimitri so we can all communicate long distance now so that’s cool.

We spent the whole day in town trying to do some quick investigations to make a buck, one of them being the mass homicide/burglary at the lawyers office. It seems like it was Zik who did this, but I tried my best to throw the authorities off the scent until we can figure out how to deal with this on our own.

Also, we kept seeing this brown cloaked figure that seemed to be following us. We each saw him separately, but never together. We tried to follow him and find him, but to no avail. The new guy, Oliver, was the one who got the best look at him and described him as a high elf with silver hair. He told Eleth and she said something about Orrian. When I asked her afterwards though she had nothing to say.

It was clear that the crew was getting restless to sale, so I gave the order that we would sail to Burke in the morning to search for a wanted man. We took Orrian’s Revenge on the 4 day sale to the island. When we arrived, Oliver, Shantu, Quarrion and I marched for about a day into the forest before encountering a flock of dire ducks. Seven, to be precise.

We definitely had a hard time fighting against them and a couple of us were knocked unconscious, but fortunately, and with the help of the magic spears we had bought, we eventually slayed them, and returned to ship with 7 dire duck carcasses. It wasn’t what we came for, but it lifted the crew’s spirits to have something to show for their efforts, so we sailed back to home port with our prize.
