The box was holding N'Kia tech. Some kind of cage that was confining... a consciousness. Dunno if it's AI or some old soul that was uploaded and preserved, or something entirely different, but now it's taken over the ship and Duke says we landed in a system too far away for us to have reached in such a short amount of time. I don't know where the fuck we are and I don't know the first thing about this N'Kia shit; it's older than time as far as we know. All I can tell is it has similar markings to the huge ass gates that have been found all over the galaxy and it gives me a fucking headache just to look at. I took some notes and video while studying the cage which I'll upload later.
 
Not only that, but everyone else seems to have a better idea of what we're dealing with than we do. The original recipient was killed for it. We were nearly killed for it. Some mob bloke named Yatu tried to get it from us before we jumped away from Warren. And why the fuck did it take so long for Duke and Donut to jump away? Fucking morons. I don't know if I'll ever make it back to the Can.
 
I got a closer look at Hoi's chest wound as I patched him up , and now he has a mild concussion from opening the damn box so maybe I can talk him into a brain scan. His physiology is really interesting. Visually not too different from a human, but I saved a skin sample and I'll take a peek under the microscope if I ever get the opportunity. Oh, and he should be fine.
