Episode 15: Death of a Bachelor

by Johnson Piraat

We have left Cave Call with the option to return to Shadow Crown Point. On the first night of our journey back we encountered problems with the goblins in the middle of the night as they raided our camp and stole valuable items from all the parties Falco and Uriah we're not on watch at the time as they should have been. As we woke up in the morning we realized that the money was gone. We continued on the path from Cave Call to Shadow Crown Point only to encounter three goblins along the way, who set up an ambush for us. My allies fought valiantly and easily took down the three goblins. One of them had our valuables we reclaimed.

We continued on our way to Shadow Crown Point where we met up with the Army only to find out that  General  Calva had made his way back to Vigo since there was trouble brewing. We found out from Doctor price that a well-deserved Bounty was left behind by the general for the finding of the scouts bandanas. We took time to rest that evening within the safety of the camp. The next morning we found out that the General was dead. The Captain informed me that he was going to be leaving the next morning. He was going to be given the orders in 12 hours to break camp and return to Vigo to face the threat of the monsters on the outskirts.

Our party acquired horses and made quick haste returning to Vigo. The city was found in shambles the outskirts were filled with people wanting to get in the city and residents wanting to get out. Several yards from the entrance to the city was an encampment. After making our way into the City and meeting with Sheriff Dale we were informed of the situation. Several days before we arrived this Camp of monsters arrived on the outskirts of the city. And just 12 hours earlier the general was murdered. As my allies begin an investigation into the murder, I made my way to the outskirts of town to the Golden Golem seeking an old friend. After making my way through the war tattered outer skirts of the city I found that the Golden Golem, a once vibrant tavern was now empty. The rooms were stripped of all valuables. There was no sign of life throughout the building, but recalling my time spent there with Red, I remembered the back room. Where I spent so many nights on the tattered couch. I found the door to the room locked and secured from inside. I began knocking and calling out for anyone who maybe alive inside. I found Red and her older associate, who was injured barricaded there, starving, dirty needing help. I offered her sanctuary within the city walls but we had to hurry. After hoisting the old man onto my shoulder we made our way to the city walls where Ernest allowed us entry but a mob of 200 individuals had seen where we were going and the entry into the city. Against Ernest judgment I told him to shut the door behind him and to take care of my friends. As I and four of the guards held the mob back.

After dealing with that situation, I met up with my friends who had discovered at the residents of the general, a murder. Upon investigation of the home we found a ceremonial dagger that belongs to the Orcs and several other pieces of evidence. We proceeded to give the evidence to Dale. Dale suggested that we negotiate with the Orcs to inquire of why they were at the city of Vigo. Upon exiting Vigo we made our way to the orc encampment to discover that they were not what they appear to be. With the help of an old friend, Bogger, we were able to communicate with the queen of the Orcs. Who graciously has given us two days to return their precious totem which was stolen from them. Upon returning the ceremonial orc blade because it was stained with blood it was therefore useless to the Orcs. We returned to Vigo and once again let Sheriff Dale know of our findings and determined that the only suspect left was Lord Dicar. We made our way to Dicar's residence that was in the city. Upon entering the home, one of my allies again caught wind of the flower fragrance that he had smelled at the crime scene. We questioned the Lord only to find out that it was not he, but his wife who held the rights to land. Dicar called for his wife and questioned her motivation for murder. She stated that it was love, but not for him. She the attempted to kill us all.
