Expedition started, once again towards the meteor. Human [Patsy], half-elf [Medyr], gnome [Wrenn] alongside.
 
Encountered a small burrow with strangely intelligent owls. Wrenn seemed capable of communicating with them. They were seeking help, though I understood little of it. Something about the two Owlins back at camp, sea-wings, true-wings, takers, etc. Likely best to ask Wrenn, if more information is needed.
 
Set up camp. Sugar asleep at an instant, as usual. I have second watch.
 
Watch over. Nothing to note.
 
Attacked during the next watch - humanoids, 2 orcs and several halflings. We were told that we should be the only humanoid life here. Reports must have been wrong. Difficult fight, though we had no losses.
 
Medyr recognises the axes the orcs were carrying. Royal Navy Issue, supposedly. May be a clue as to who they are.

Other, living humanoids on the continent is important news. We're beginning our return trip already.
 
Passed the owl's burrow again. Caved in, natural disaster or an attack, I am unsure. They are deceased.
