Today we lost one of our own.
 
Xathriell was killed last night by Strahd, why? He didn't cause any harm and from what Strahd himself said, Xathriell was one of his own family members, his nephew. We couldn't even do anything with his body as it was taken with Strahd when he vanished into mists
 
I was hoping that the party would trust me a bit more, he told me to get them to work with me and I'd get what I want out of it, if he's willing to murder one of his own family out in the open like that, someone who as far as I know didn't do anything to him.......He reminded me of our deal, I don't need reminding.
 
Blaidd confronted me when we got back to the Inn, told him what I knew, wasn't like I was hiding that i'd been to the castle anyway, if anyone had asked what had been said I would have told them anyway. I don't have anything to hide from them. But hopefully that should put their minds at ease

Anyway, less of that, one of Urwins brothers, Dag, showed up and told us that the woman from the carvings that the Burgomasters right hand man was obsessed with, has been located in the village of Barovia, think that was the one that was under Castle Ravenloft? Good new, we found them! Bad news apparently she's being hunted by Strahd. What is his deal? When we met he seemed like a good person, well, not good but someone who knew what he was doing. Wish i'd had a chance to have a word with him before he decided to vanish. They had told us that their father has just died and before they will leave he needs to be buried, We've been asked by Ishmark if we can take his sister to safey.
 
So, we did, his father was a heavy man and it took all of us to get him to the church. Only to find out that the father of the church has a vampire in the basement, his own son. We didn't want to hurt him but at the end of the day, we couldn't keep our promise to him and he succumbed to his wounds. Mordecai was badly hurt and Lysette too, although not as badly. Blaidd took the former back to the camp that Adrien said he would be at and we remained behind to make sure that Ishmark and Ireena's father got the burial he deserved, they had already started before we had a chance to get out.
 
There was the toll of a bell, we found the father hanging and his dead son at his feet. All this leaves a bad taste in my mouth, seems this has made Lysette doubt herself, she shouldn't she was making the right decisions, she doesn't make our decisions for us.
