The Loom and the Deathknights

by Fengrao

Against my better judgement we decided to make our way to the loom of fate in heaven - it was there that the maidens went as well as Calamitous Storm, and I think we all wanted to know more information about this critical failure that is happening in Creation. So we decided to take one of the flying dragon boats. Kai and Thrudd got into an argument with the guy who rented them out. Kai wiped his memory of the argument and we were on our way, well, sort of. Turns out none of us knew how to fly a dragon boat. But with the help of Heavens we took off, and made our way towards the loom.

Once we got there, we parked the boat and some guards came out and wouldn't let us in. They said we should go into the main entrance and we might be let in, so that's what we did. When we got to the main entrance, which was an ornately carved giant building, we came across a marble wall that was surrounded by floating elevators. Thrudd put his head through the wall and then when he came back out he looked bewildered, saying that the loom of fate was being worked by hundreds of spider looking creatures and that it was truly beautiful.

We decided to take the elevators up to try and find the maidens or Storm. Eventually we found the maidens, they were staring intently at a patch of the loom. Venus told Mishal that this was in the city of Thorns which had fallen into the underworld, which was where that deathknight that was talking to Thrudd at the festival said for him to meet him. Mars told Galit that a giant battle was being waged, and that there was one ancient thread in the loom that was ensnaring many others. Apparently Storm had already left, being sent away for reconnaissance by the maidens. They said he was very good at his job.

We decided to head to Thorns to help out those fighting with the deathknights - something had to be done. After talking to Venus, she told us portal 54 would lead us closest to Thorns without being in the actual city. And with that, we took the dragon boat and headed straight to the foyer of heaven. When we got there, we ran into the sorceress Samea, who yelled at us for taking up all the time of the Unconquered Sun and sending him away. Galit grabbed her and accused her of summoning Laraken the pattern eater, and working for the Bull of the North. She claimed she worked for lots of people, to which Galit countered that most people were probably not going to kill a bunch of innocents across Creation. Samea teleported to the other side of the foyer and said that it was important to rise up against your oppressors. We goaded her into coming to fight the Deathknights if she was so worried about her oppression, to which she declined and exited the foyer into a north-eastern portal. Strange woman.

We left through portal 54, and travelled to Thorns. When we were getting close enough to see Juggernaut, Heavens shot up and flew towards the carnage, leaving the rest of us to travel on foot. Heavens fought ghosts and smote them all, and eventually we caught up with him. He said there were survivors in the city holed up, and while I wanted to go straight to Juggernaut the rest of my siblings wanted to help out the survivors. It was noble, but there was something foul about the city and I thought we would've been best to avoid it. We passed a bunch of bodies that had skeletons ripped out of them, and I felt even more uneasy. When we reached a pocket of survivors they told us we couldn't enter, and that we were infectious and our skeletons would soon pop out of our bodies.

This isn't good. While I tried to summon what knowledge I could from my healing textbook, we made our way to Juggernaut in the hopes of finding the person who was causing this disease. Suddenly the robed priest, Starfall of Iron Phoenix, came out and goaded us, saying we were stupid and will soon enough die just like our mother. He admitted to killing Gaia, the bastard! With that the majority of us tried to smite him, and it turns out he was just a projection. As he continued to goad us as we walked along, Mishal was able to dispel the illusion. Vengeance will be mine for what they did to mother, I swear it.

When we reached the docks, we saw Juggernaut and ten thousand hungry ghosts waiting for us. We fought the ghosts but Juggernaut seemed immobile. Mishal brightly lit themself and the ghosts fled, so we made our way to the leg of Juggernaut so we could climb them. And with that, I realised I knew how to heal my siblings of their diseases. We were about to climb but we saw a man perched on Juggernauts leg, waiting for us.

Time will tell how hard he will be to fight. For now I'm just glad I can heal everyone.
