Session 0.5: "A new found respect for calamari"

Sitting on the roof of their office, Bulwark eats their lunch staring at the ocean. As they sit there, a giant tentacle rises out of the ocean. Then another and another, revealing a giant squid which floats into the air. As it slowly approaches into the city, Bulwark stands up, donning their “armor” and begins their descent to the creature. The squid destroys its immediate surroundings, throwing a car at a group of evacuating civilians. Bulwark lands, absorbing the impact of the car, and launches himself at the squid. The squid was pushed back until it was over the ocean, Bulwark taking the brunt of most of its attacks. Bulwark conjured a weapon and knocked the squid into the ocean’s depths. On the ocean floor, it grabbed a wrecked ship, launching it towards Bulwark. He created a half circle, catching the ship and launching it back at the squid, knocking it down and out. Bulwark confirmed it was still alive, and moved the giant squid miles away from Starlight. Bulwark then returned to their lunch and then back to work.
 
At the end of their day, Bulwark was greeted by one of the Five Stars, Stormbringer, an interesting fellow. They briefly talked, Stormbringer confirmed the squid was fine after the battle and wouldn’t be attacking again, and gave Bulwark a file with a task from the Global Defense Department. Bulwark was to join a new team of “heroes” called the Anomalies. The next day, Bulwark walks to the office, and meets with Director Hall, a seemingly respectful person. The Director leads Bulwark into the building and into a white room. Hall uses an ID badge on a scanner, causing the room to pulsate blue and purple, revealing a door. Director Hall went up against a wall which opened and then closed behind them. Leaving Bulwark alone in the room with only a door, where on the other side was their new “team”.
