Deep Rock Maghdan

At long last. We are finally on our way to the Mining Baron's Palace. We are bringing Dr Samah with us to investigate the site and hopefully make some new archeological drills. If Dr Samah search comes up empty there is enough chance for us to collect the valuable Maghdan Ore. Both our ships are fully repaired and operational. We have plenty of mining equipment to earn a lot of money. As a wise man from Earth's past once said: "We will Drill, Baby, Drill".
 
After our adventure on the prison planet and Dhaab it's nice to have a change of scenery. It's not a long way from Djachroum. But i have enough time with Dr. Samah to check the specimens he collected on an earlier mission. The data looks promising. The Palace has been looted many times over. But due to it's size there is still some chance we can still make new discoveries. About 30 minutes before we land we heard Carl's voice " destination in visual sight". Dr Samah and me walked to the cockpit. Khadyr and Shamus we're already checking for a suitable landing spot. And just as was said in the original report we could see a glimpse of the three vehicles which we're close to the palace. These should help us with the mining expedition. Dr Samah was nervous and wanted to go to the palace as soon as possible. I thought about going with him but it was a better idea to check on the three vehicles first. Probably they needed some repairs to get going.
 
After we dropped of Dr Samah it was a short flight to the three vehicles. When we got there we could have a close look at the three Rivian ground two-seater transports. One of vehicles was hanging of a cliff ledge. We left this one alone. The other two we're on stable ground. Shamus and me checked the first one. After some hacking Shamus was able to decrypt the lock of the first door. It was out of power but in good shape. I decided to pull a powercord from the airshaft of the Black Moth to the powerport of the first Rivian. It started charging: this would take 30 minutes. Luckily the code of the first transporter worked on the second verhicle. I plugged in the powercord and... the powerconnection broke. There was an electrical discharge running through the cable going right to the ship. We we're still rusty i think. Because we all shot at the powercord or tried to pull it loose. Nothing helped. The Exo-Suits we we're wearing did not help either. As a last resort i grabbed my wirecutter and broke through the cord. But i did get a discharge and the temperature in my suit was temporary on very high. So... we have one vehicle. We only had to wait for 20 more minutes before we could drive it to the Baron's palace. But we had to get there a lot sooner.
 
Khadyr received a message from a panicked Dr. Samah. He was in trouble and needed our help. We jumped in the ship and flew to the entrance of the palace. We walked into the palace. This was one large room and there was not much light. With our lanterns we finally found the footprints of dr. Samah. This took us to another room where there was something on the floor. The dead body of Dr. Samah. Killed by a ballastic object. Near his body we found his Tabula where he Samah collected his notes. Quickly we decided to go back to the ship and see what was on the Tabulah. Because of the dark we did not know what could be lurking in the dark.
 
On the ship we opened the Tabula. It contained a diary entry and an audio file. This was very strange. It sounded like a riddle. About faces being keys. This did not make any sense. But we had a problem. Our client was dead. And we we're the only ones there. we could not leave him behind. Khadyr and i decided to go back and collect his body so we could put it in the stasis pod.
So we went into the Baron's palace once more. But this time armed.
As soon as we we're preparing Dr. Samah's body for transport we heard a voice. A young woman stepped out of the darkness. She said we should leave and Dr. Samah's curiosity got him killed. Next before we knew it she ran away in the opposite direction. She was quick and i thought about shooting her in the leg. Khadyr told me not to. Maybe i would miss and kill her and we had to explain two dead bodies. So we went in pursuit. But with our heavy exo-suits this was a big problem. Therefore we called Shamus and asked him to fly the ship to the other entrance so he could block her path.
What we did not know there was no opposite entrance. Suddenly we looked into a large crater where a corridor should be. And there was a ship. A small ship. A fast ship. But there was Shamus and we still had chance to stop her ship before she ran away. We boarded the Black Moth and we're now in pursuit. Khadyr told us to attack immediatly. With full power to the engines and Ion Cannon we started the fight. We could gain on her. With the eagle eyed Shamus we had multiple hits on the ship,. But this ship had a few surprises. It was built for speed and take a punch. Her shields we're still holding after our direct hits. And then it was obvious. Our large expeditionay ship was not fast enough to catch this little ship. After a few shots and misses we saw her dissapear in the distance sending insults to us over the comm system.
 
What know. We had a dead client which we had no explanation for. The suspect ran away to some far off place. The day that started so hopefull was not looking good anymore. We decided to go back and pick up Dr. Samah's body in the palace. During our flight to the palace we heard Carl's voice: " She is headed to the Ahaleem Station" . He examined the Tabula and found more information.The woman's name was Amyra and an acquaintance of Dr Samah. Carl told us about the Ahaleem. This station was in the Black Sector and home to a Biosculpt manufacturer: " Bayieaans Fake Face" . One of the sculpters worked on his latest creation in secret inside the Mining Baron's Palace. There had to be another room inside the Palace. When we went back we found another path with smaller footsteps from Amyra. This lead to another room with a still humming Terminal. On the screen there we're three buttons: Destroy and Download: both not available. The only option was upload. Carl had found the last entries from the sculpter. The biosculpt was a method for anyone to shapeshift into any person. There is a cache. The sculpt had many errors which could cause the death of the one who had the code.
 
Wisely we decided to blow up the terminal. This knowledge is too dangerous for anyone to have. Including Amyr. We had to go after her. We made everything ready for take-off . Picked up the groundtransport and Dr. Samah's body. And then we took off to Ahaleem. In pursuit of Dr. Samah's killer.
