The "Space Egg" Incident

It all started on day not unlike any other, I noticed a job on the job board quizzically titled "Need Help, Fallen Star, Urgent" an naturally i jumped at the opportunity. The quest seemed simple at first, investigate the site where a falling star and bring any shiny bits of it back, but if only things were as it seemed. The trip there wasnt very eventful other than some weird laughing hear in the woods and the star itself still being hot to the touch even after days of travel. We went to work immediately after arriving chipping away at this rock for any goodies that could be inside, however once fully uncovered, we discovered an red glowing egg shaped object that wouldnt fall down that i dubbed the "Space Egg". The others who accompanied me we very cautious, but its description wasnt covered in the contract we signed so, YOINK! On our way back we were assailed but what i can only describe as space ghosts , they werent much of a threat but nonetheless hostile. After dealing with that we managed to make it back to camp rather quickly or so we thought, turns out we were out of phase with reality or something because no one could see us or interact with us. we raced back to where we slept the night before and sure enough the "Space Egg" had become huge and somehow dragged our bodies to it. we managed to wake up from this nightmare soon after only to discover that it wasnt a dream and we were being attacked but this baby faced eyeless spider thing, I guess. We defeated the monstrosity but for a moment it I had the instinct to protect it, strange I know. Well anyways, a job well done is a job well done, all stories aside im excited to spend my earning and something nice .
