The Beginning

Born in the lovely shithole at Red Peak Mesa. The Mesa is full of all types of goblins but mostly notable for housing a large verdan population. Marcus Filianore is an adventurer at heart. Mostly because of the fact that he had to dodge the rocks thrown at him by the other goblins for being different for not wanting to murderfuck anything and everything. They generally yelled things that roughly translate into “Catch a fucking brick normie!”. This lead to Marcus “bailing the fuck outta there” at the ripe old age of 16 and stepping into the pile of dogs shit know as the rest of the world. Marcus wandered around for a few years sweet-talking and bluffing his way out of most deadly situations. Eventually he got picked up by a crew of pirates and met a Ichibald. Marcus & Ichibald become buddies over beer and stories as they travel the seven seas of shit and edgy lore over their few years together. Ichibald told Marcus a story he overheard from the captain of the Sunken City, a place filled with unimaginable wealth. Marcus couldn't say no to interesting new places and getting rich so he agreed. Marcus & Ichibald explore the city and eventually come to a palace, and this is where it all went wrong. As the two entered, Ichibald was hit by a mindblast from a powerful entity and Marcus was picked by a Pitch black tentacle and yanked screaming forth into the void further on into the palace. It led him into the situation that is best described as a deal made in hell. This pact binds Mercer to the will of the Deep One allowing him to access certain magics at the stipulation that he spreads the "faith" of the deep one. His pact with the Deep One also caused some adverse side effects; such as having a chance to curse magical items the first time he touches them and occasional insanity. Another deficiency Mercer has is due to his upbringing in a very hot place leaves him extremely vulnerable to the cold. With these boons and banes mercer sets off for the boat with Ichibald where they were detained and sold into slavery because of desertion.
