Why did the Spirits Let Slimes Live?

by Grim Erel

(After the date and name of this journal entry there is a blotch of ink with four poorly frown figures each one with cartoonish Frowns)

The race has started and I do not understand why the cat and the captain were worried about the boat it seems to float just fine. During the starting of the race, I put some people to sleep and giant blue thing jumped out of the water destroying one of the other boats. The race already seems to be very exciting and I hope it only continues on this path.

It did not continue to be fun and I no longer have one toe. I no longer want to be a Pirate because from what I know now you must fight awful creatures to be one. The creature we fought ate my toe and I know now it as a Black Pudding but I was always told Pudding was food so this confuses me.

It was hidden in a box with a note on top of it from the one who had the dog. He wanted vengeance and tried to sink our Boat but from what I heard McSparkos put a grand end to the evil Pudding that we are not to eat. I hope the shadow finds the man but I know that the Dog did nothing wrong because he was nothing but a good puppy owned by a bad man. Besides the bad Pudding, I have been told that only one boat is ahead of us in the race which brings hope that we might be able to get to the new Land quickly.
