I figured I should write down what foul undead and other monsters and beasts I have researched through our adventures. I suppose this would help out my party if we ever encountered these again... it would ensure that not only I but, my whole party would slay any abominable undead filth skulking about.
I remember 'putting to rest' sort of speak the Undead 'Will-o-Wisp' in a crypt (not to mention 'putting to rest' my parties thoughts on GRAVE ROBBING *cough*). This wisp had resistances to: acid, cold, necrotic, and thunder. From observations of battle... my spells seemed highly effective at injuring it and mundane blows by weapons seem to glide right through it. It seemed to have the ability to 'Consume Life' from others nearing death. It looked like it would go invisible and appear in a different area on the battleground - I'm not entirely sure how it manages to do this but, I saw it happen with my own eyes.
A fiend we encountered, after making Strahd run away like a hurt child I might add, was called a Hell Hound. These fiends travel in packs and gain vigor to their swipes if their allies are nearby. These hounds are immune to fire - Brick didn't believe me and tested his strange ass fire at the fiend I suppose to confirm... yes Brick... they are immune to fire - and they can breath fire as an attack!
A weird aquatic looking monster we encountered shortly after the Hell Hounds was called a Banderhobb. It seemed to understand everything we were saying to it but would not speak back. I got the sense that it tracked us because it startled most of our party. It swallowed someone whole... was it me? I honestly can't remember or I've blocked it from my memory... it also had the ability to teleport around the battleground. These monsters cannot be charmed so don't try it Moonfall -rolls eyes-.
The disgusting actual undead abomination of zombies we fought was called a Zombie Clot. It would pull off its own flesh and try to entomb people by throwing it at someone - does everyone understand why the undead must STAY DEAD?! To top it off it was immune to: poison damage, cannot be stunned and cannot be paralyzed. It exuded necromatic energy. Thankfully this 'thing' was so large we could all easily tear it apart and put it back into the ground where it belonged.
Haha... ahh I somewhat feel bad for Moonfall for housing this monster in his bag of holding. The Bagman tried to steal his magical items and could've possibly stole the whole party's items! Legends say that the Bagman used to be an adventurer that became too greedy and eventually morphed into a monster. I always knew Bane would get a secret admirer on our adventure.
The lovely Night Hags we encountered baking children's dreams into pies - fiends! They used transmutation spells to disguise themselves as beautiful women but, I saw passed their lies and knew something was wrong. These Hags travel in covens (3) and gain more magical power and physical endurance when they are all together. They tempted quite a few of the boys with their empty promises, all of them turned them down because I think they secretly knew these Hags just wanted to corrupt all of them. I noticed that these fiends have resistances to: cold and fire damage, bludgeoning +piercing + slashing from non magical weapons. They may be ugly but they are extremely agile and difficult to land a hit on. At a certain point, when they looked like they were about to perish, it seemed as though they were preparing to transport themselves completely away from the battleground... excellent for us we defeated them before that could happen.
I'll be sure to scribble in my journal more often now - thanks to Jac for giving me a spare one he had in his wares.
