Kano Jiro, Elysebeth and the lost arm

by Lincoln

Lincoln escorts his friends to a store called Jiro's, deducing that they will probably find Kano there. Instead, they meet Tanki, who asks them to come back at 11:30 when the store was less busy.

With an hour to kill, they head towards one of the parks in New Rousanage when Shi comes bolting towards Lincoln, pulling him into an alleyway. The rest of Lincoln's friends squeeze into the tiny space and listen as Shi tells Lincoln that the Gutter Golddiggers have completely cleared out of the city. Lincoln and Shi lead the way to the Glitter Globe to look for clues on where they might have gone.

Despite accidentally tripping the security alarm, Lincoln manages to convince the SWOT team to leave and finds a napkin behind the bar which reads

CLOSING 2 WEEKS - ELYSEBITH

which Alda remembers is a place on the map they have. Then on the desk in the back office, Lincoln finds a letter. The jist of it reads

Dear Seviss,

We have found the location of Jiro - he's in a tower outside Elysebith. You will need to come quickly and with great numbers as you aren't the only ones looking for him. We've also found the location of the Gloomskin. It's in the Dark Continent, owned by a dark wizard whose name we don't yet know.

Lincoln is able to make an educated guess that K is the Gutter Golddigger's go-to P.I., whose last name is Kinton.

Closing in on 11:30, the gang head back to Jiro's to talk with Tanki, who tells Lincoln that Kano is hiding out in his mostly underground mansion about a 20 minute walk from Elysebith. He gives them clear directions so they can find the mansion along with a spare key to the front gate so they can at least get to the front door.

After a speedboat journey seque, the group finds 3 campsites parked up in the area surrounding the mansion. The southern campsite, made up of caravans, is easily identifiable as the Gutter Golddiggers. Lincoln recognises the northern campsite as a group called the Sky Pony Barbarians. The purple-clad Barbarians are discovered to be the Great Worm Barbarians.

The leader of the Sky Pony Barbarians turns out to be one of Gao's students, Jinsu. Jinsu tells Gao that they're protecting the tower from the other Barbarian groups so they can't get the artefact inside. The group of adventurers learn that one of the Barbarian groups has taken Kano's arm which grants him access to the vault, which has his collection of artefacts in.

Along with Alda, Lincoln approaches the tower and is reunited with his saviour. Lincoln heals Kano's arm as best he can, and finds out that it's the Gutter Golddiggers who have his arm. Not particularly wanting to confront that aspect of his past, Lincoln asks if there's another way into the vault.

Kano has a secret entrance at the back of the tower, armed with traps and other deterrants. Kano has no idea what lies in store for whoever ventures inside, but the group decides it's the best course of action.

Kano requests that they retrieve his 3 most prized posessions: the manacles, a jet black orb, and a pair of slippers.

Lincoln tells Kano to stay safe while holding down his fort, and then the adventurers head into the secret entrance/dungeon.
