10-18-18 Back to the House

by Daniel

After taking some time to recover from our night out after I met the team, we opted to continue our investigation by returning to the house I met them in and more thoroughly investigating. Before leaving, I used the spell I recently learned to find my missing button. I assumed it had just fallen off in my room, but strangely enough I was lead to Tectus' room. I found him in the kitchen and explained the situation, then he went to retrieve it. It didn't look like it was in there by mistake, but I offered him my replacement button as a gesture of goodwill. He did not accept, but I don't blame him. That button was atrocious.
Regardless, after preparing to leave, we traveled back to the crime scene. We entered more civilly than I did last time, and spread out to search. Leaving Zippy and Rykkard in the main room where we fought a week ago, the rest of us continued upstairs. Everyone spread to the nearest doors, and I found myself in a hallway. The first room was a bedroom, with various cupboards for clothes and a filing cabinet in the corner. The filing cabinet contained interesting ledgers, records of contracts with the Divi group for assassinations, robberies, and other less-than-reputable activities. Illoben joined me in the room as I was reviewing these papers, and shortly after I turned to leave and explore more.
As I was leaving, the papers burst into flame. We salvaged what we could, and Illoben took what was left to a contact in the city. I will have to ask my own contact in the Divi group what he knows. I continued through other rooms including a spare bedroom, a deviant storage room, a training room, and other non notable places. In the final room, I met Seven and Tectus, who were examining a burnt corpse on an altar that we established to be demonic in nature. We couldn't discern much and we left shortly after to pursue our other leads.
