I apologize I’ve been a bit vague, Let me set the record straight. My family has a centuries old beef with a dragon, let call him Bngwesd (‘bing-wes-dah’). We were once kings and queens of the Uyghurs Mountains. Until Bngwesd stole(supposedly) our treasure. We were ruined. My ancestors obsession with revenge for the stolen wealth of the past drove them to squander all we had left. Being broken and destitute, we pursued a life of petty crime. Now, hundreds of years later if you’re a McNaugh’stee you have 2 choices, work in the mines or work for the family. Or both!
I was a bit of an odd duck, I took a liking to the forests and wild areas of the foothills. My uncle said I was a fool for wasting my time. McNaugh’stee work is done with a hammer or a fist.
It all changed when we heard an old legend about a plant that grows in the East. A plant that could protect from Dragonfire. As all legends are, it was somewhat vague on the details, but it was intriguing. Suddenly my interest in all things green might actually be an asset to the family. I think Uncle Bruce thought it was a fools errand, but my mum (his sister) convinced him it was a worthy endeavor to pursue. It was decided that the best way for me to help the family was to travel to the east to find this plant. With it we would finally have protection from the dragons greatest weapon and we could reclaim our treasure!
That was 10 years ago. I haven’t been home since
