I have been meaning to write, but I have not felt safe enough to take the time.
We made contact with Ciri's tribe. They are different than expected. I understand her a little better, but I can understand how she felt she did not fit in. They were struggling with the tentacle-faced creature too (apparently called an "illithid") and have agreed to marry off Peacekeepr -- Ciri's sister -- to the Frost Giants to secure an alliance and help defend their tribe. We decided to try to remove that threat and make their marriage agreement unnecessary and set out from there.
We returned to the rift Rory had found in the cave from the journal previous and jumped in.
While wandering through the deep caves, we happened upon a tavern surrounded by ravens. One-Eye, King of the Gods, offered us a deal: walk away from Hel and this quest and he will grant us the boons she offered us. All we have to do is go home. It sounds too good to be true, but I admit that it is a tempting offer -- if I didn't think he was lying out his ass.
He wasn't happy with our answer of "maybe" and decided to drop us into what is evidently a Labyrinth. His lack of willingness to let us confirm his story makes me feel like he is definitely lying to us.
We have been traveling through the Labyrinth for some time and Rory has seemingly jumped into every possible trap she could find. She is still figuring out this dungeoneering thing, but I hope she figures it out before it gets one of us killed.
I brought up my idea about using me as a conduit to speak to Tyr next time and Rory latched onto it whole-heartedly. We decided to give it a shot and next thing I knew, I was face-to-face with Tyr himself. I asked my questions -- which we probably should have established beforehand -- as he continued to beat the everliving shit out of me. I could barely keep up with him, so I decided to force him to take a hit if he wanted to do the same. God blood is golden it seems. I bled a god. With how this quest is going, I could see it culminating in us killing gods. Or dying of course.
We found a small community of others here in the Labyrinth in what they call "The Gearworks". Something feels off about it all and I cannot help but be paranoid. We are resting in the inn now, but I am unable to sleep. Big surprise there.
We were told to wait here for a guide by the name of Thesseus. According to Rory, he can lead us out and he is evidently hot.
I just hope to get out of this nightmare in time to save Peacekeeper.
