Halves of the Coin

And suddenly I am the odd one out. The two least likely of people to find love have found it. Neither searched for it, but found it they did. I can't say which is more surprising. Timmorel seemed allergic to most forms of socialization, speak nothing of love. But for Aria, romantic encounters were either a way to pass the time or a tool; a means to an end.
 
I'm happy for them both, I really am. But I can't say that I am entirely comfortable with the turn of events. In mere days, the status quo was upended. And worse, neither can really say that their newly formed bonds are chief on their mind.
 
Timmorel at least can face her future knowing that the challenges that lay ahead are aligned similarly with her new love.
 
But for Aria, it's more complicated if that's possible. She's yet to even admit her feelings openly. She doesn't have to; at least with me. Likely she knows that. We'll go through the formality of it all. We'll move through the pleasantries and niceties as two people should. But the conversation will move into one that the closest of friends would have. As if the one side of the coin was simply speaking to the other half.
 
The difference is that the coin is never split along the thin edge. It can only be halved - at best - along the flat.
 
And when so broken, each half takes part of the other with it.
