Scithon Prograde, Heddos 7-Arcs North

The stars tonight were partially obscured by patches of grey clouds. Perhaps it's a sign of uncertain times ahead. Or current uncertainties? Perhaps it's a clear reflection of my own lacking ability to read the celestial positions and paths. It shall surely take me more cycles than I have to know them like Watcher Agos does. Also, it is not the season my star wanders above the horizon. I can't even comfort myself with an attempt to gazing on my own fate. I feel scared.
 
It's been merely six months and 14 days since I left the library, and I guess I had thought the early years of my pilgrimage would have been spent joyfully chasing fleeting clues of folk magic like I had first experienced when I came to the Dales. But today I saw, or felt, something terrifying. It was not magic like ours. It was dark, like the darkness that fills the void between the stars. I had hoped partnering with this local marshal would be a good lead. He seemed to have seen magic first hand and claimed to know a man that could wield it. Perhaps I should be more careful with what I wish to the stars. My spirit tells me this magic is not one we should attempt to copy with our astromancy, but my mind says we need to study it. I just don't know. I wish Keeper Ulonos was here to tell me what I should do.
