Seven Matts

by Senna Morreya

Game Twenty-Nine: Seven Matts

There was magic in this world once, but they stole it all away.

The Bravo brothers were on a routine patrol through town, taking note of the panicked state of much of the townsfolk. The narrow alleys of the business district were not especially busy on this dark night.

Suddenly the quiet night was disturbed by the sounds of the walking dead. From all directions a host of skeletons and zombies shambled towards them.

Jetto lunged at the rushing horde of undead with his creepily extending arms, smashing a skeleton to dust. Senna followed with a thrust of her Dragon companion, smashing another skeleton to bits. Able whipped one of the zombies into the dirt, forming a barrier which led to a series of hilarious zombies falling over each other ineffectively.

A blast of arcane energy whizzed past Ables head. He did not notice. A small group of yellow-skinned humanoids stepped out of the shadows, menacingly looking towards the Bravo brothers. Lyle cut down one of the shambling zombies with ease. Jetto popped one skeletons head right off, but his second fist struck a nearby building.

Koffi positioned himself to better reach the strangely appearing undead, and Jetto finished off the last of the skeletons in his sight: crying out that the yellow-skinned Gith were spotted as well. The blurry Gith sauntered down the dirty alleyway. Senna slipped away from the skeletons approaching and whistled a lovely tune, inspiring her brothers to fight a little bit harder.

The zombies slowly shambled towards the brothers and Lyle cut several of them down.

Lightning crackled down the alleyway, destroying the rest of the zombies and filling the metal armour of Koffi with electrical energy: much to his dismay. His afro sizzling with static electricity, Lyle launched himself at the wizard who had dared to strike at his companions. The vicious blow hammered him into the pavement, where he sat at death's door.

Koffi launched himself towards Jetto and finished the skeleton that had been hacking at him for some time. The Gith in charge came around a corner, into the waiting fists of Jetto. Undeterred, he swung his greatsword towards what appeared the greatest threat: Koffi. A vicious strike knocking him off his feet and out of the fight.

Senna launched herself at the wizard who had singed her clothing with lightning, and Lemuel sunk his teeth into his neck: drinking deep of the extra-planar blood. Able knocked one of the approaching Gith footsoldiers off his feet, and Lyle launched himself at the leader of the Gith who had cut down his comrade.

Seeing what happened up close, two of the Gith hit squad that were left pulled out bows and shot at the Brothers: unsuccessfully. One who had been tripped got up, only to get his legs knocked out from under him again by Able. Jetto ran around the corner and pummeled a footsoldier.

Senna rushed over and bound the wounds on Koffi, who had lost his glowing armour when he lost consciousness. His blood remained in his body: for now.

Able finally let the poor Gith stand up, and was rewarded with a pair of arrows.

Jetto attempted to run up the wall, and gravity was not kind. As he fell, he struck down the Gith soldier with the momentum.

Senna leaned around the corner and Lemuel entranced the Gith with his Lunar radiance. They were quite enthralled with her performance, dancing with the dragon as her brothers crept up on the survivors preparing for a vicious sneak attack.

Able decided this was not a good plan, or perhaps simply wasn’t paying attention. He cracked his whip, and the Gith were snapped out of their trance. They immediately laid into the sneaking brothers, who were rather annoyed by the plan being ruined. A series of missed attacks later, the two Gith were both prone on the ground. Lyle laid one to rest and Jetto beat the other one into submission. The ambush survived, they looted the corpses of the fallen foes and set to finding their very badly injured friend some medical attention.

They returned to the warehouse carrying their two unconscious friends, hoping to warn the brothers of an imminent attack. Hug-Hug was happy to help, and went to get the priestess of Amon-Re to heal the bleeding brothers. The warehouse was fortified, the brothers were healed, and some well earned rest was to be had. The Bravo brothers met with the four most ‘important’ other brothers who were not busy, and discussed their plans. Hug-Hug, Kiss-Kiss, Il-nig, an the priestess of Amon-Re sat around a table discussing their plans for the future. It seemed the slow approach of danger was over and everyone found themselves in turbulent times.
