we have returned to Midgaard and sent our merc friends off in our Harrier Dubois to do some escort missions without us. We also have some factory employees there, i think 6 people? Peter has recommended some unionization reading, they have not yet bothered to read the books yet.

Peter looks into getting some work for us.
 
There is a laboratory on Lamusaria that has gone dark and needs to be check up on. NOT a robotics laboratory thankfully, just a pharmaceutical laboratory. They have had issues in the past. owned by Lysander Biochemical. They previously released a combat drug too early (an inside job) and drove a bunch of people cookoo crazy. According to the grapevine, this lab was working on a different combat drug, or some such similar shit.
 
Theres also an active bounty out on The Space Kings, 10,00 credits per head, 10% on the value of the ship for any confirmed destroyed ships, undestroyed ships could just be added to our fleet.
 
Benat votes for not picking a fight with the The Space Kings. Which is indeed convincing.
 
We will probably get into the Lamusaria Lab to find they all murdered each other. Based on my previous experience, that seems likely.
 
It is All Saints Day hen we arrive at La Mussara, it is thankfully not Jredd Infested. It is a rather low tech planet, strangely. the Atmosphere is very corrosive. It is made out of Acid. There are reccomended dosages for a reason, but the reccomended dosage of the atmosphere is 0. Vacc Suits are highly reccomended, or even required. The stmosphere is Insidious, meaning the Vacc Suits will eventually break down.
It is hard to scan through the thick atmosphere, so we have to go into the lower atmosphere to determine where the facility. There's not a lot of life on the surface. In the facility, we can't pick anything up, but that is probably because of the materials used to keep out the acidic atmosphere. When scanning for technology, we can see it is in a low power stage, keeping atmo and life support up. Small computers might also be running, but no electron microscopes or manufacturing is happening here anyways.
 
Lucid swaps her gambling chip for the investigation chip. She sets up everyone's suit cameras so she can see what everyone else sees, and hopefully investigate what happened through everyone's eyes.
 
Benat is in battle dress because it is metal and will fuck up their teeth if they bite me.
 
There are no windows on the facility. they don't respond to any signals. Benat knocks on the front door, and after a moment, the door falls in. "That's a good sign"
The airlock has been partially breached, there is a person sized hole in the inner door. It looks like it was cut open with a hull cutting torch. Like a boarding tool for star ship boarding.
 
The interior atmosphere has definitely been compromised. Likely no one is still alive, as Lucid thinks this door has been compromised for 2-3 months.
 
Inward! Benat kinda struggles to wiggle himself in rough the hole.
 
There as once a security force, their remains are corroded on the ground just inside the breach. The walls are littered with blast marks and corrosion damage. 1/2 dozen dead people on the ground. The whole facility is badly damaged.
 
So why did they break in? Lucid's expert chip makes it clear that these invaders were not just here to wreck shop, they had a goal. The kind of group that would have this kind of equipment is very particular. Like the Space Kings. Who we know were hopped up on combat drugs. This break in happened before we encountered The Space Kings previously.
 
This is a relatively small facility with 2 floors and a basement, Living Quarters Upstairs, Basement is Basement.

Benat's basement is going to the basement, Peter' is going to the living quartwers to look through the panty drawers.
 
There are living quarters, about a dozen individual rooms, and a barracks with bunks for 6 people, the security team.
"Arrrrrrrrre there bodies?"
There are signs that people were dragged out of bed. The bedding ha sbeen pulled out, claw marks on the ground, not much blood. But it might've been corroded away. The atmosphere really hasn't preserved evidence.
 
In the basement, there are some dead bodies in pajamas or nothing at all down here. About half a dozen executed on the ground.
Benat: half a dozen dead. how many quarters upstairs?
Peter: about a dozen, what about the security team?
Lucid: you sstepped over them on your way in
Peter: that's what I stumbled over?
 
The vault has been opened and emptied, not blasted open like the air locks. They might've had help from the 6 MIA scientists.
 
We go searching for a Black Box of security footage, but the data storage has pretty clearly been blasted to bits by a plasma gun. Unfortunately.
 
So we will go back to Lysander and hand in the footage/Lucid's sick edit.
 
Peter tracks down the people who gave us the job to hand deliver the information and to offer to go hunting for the 6 unaccounted for scientists. The receptionist is a little confused by us.
 
SO comes 0ver, and they are totally chromed up, so one can't read their face. "C0me with me"
 
In the security office we hand over the crystal. The officer pops the crystal into their mouth and and slots it into a port and watches the footage in their brain. they find Lucid's sick edits to be interesting

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck, thats fucking annoying." they roll way back in their seat, "Scientists are worth half a million alive each, can also offer 10,000 a head in bounty for the kings. Come back to me in a couple of days, and I can hand you some information on the The Space Kings."
