Session 3

by Rexford Armstead

We ventured into the mine the following morning.

Didn't appear to had been occupied for a long time, 'least according to the resident historian, Darius. Really got his undergarments in a twist 'bout some dusty old papers. Kept shoving them in every pocket he had, and picking up every little thing littered around the floor. Rambled about some Storm Era "artifacts" and other nonsense, I didn't really see the excitement, it just looked like a lot of abandoned history to me. We left the two men to their excitement, and headed deeper into the mine.

We started seeing the presence of arachnids around the place, webbed up corpses and hallways, as well as some old bones. Poor chap fell down a hole in the floor and never made it out. Looked like a long and painful death. There were also underground springs, freshest water I'd tasted in months. That historian's got some grit in 'im, was quite upset with me luring out the spider. I didn't push back, didn't feel the need to. The spider ended up coming out to greet us by itself anyways, and he even took it down in one hit. I'm keeping my eye on him, I think there's more there than just a strange fascination with the Storm Era.

The druid is good company. Still hasn't gotten the hang of battle yet, but the spirit's there, and I appreciate the enthusiasm. I can't say much about the machinist, aside from his unfortunate lancing abilities. He too appears interested in the ancient, but more specifically gears and parts, who knows what he does with 'em. He doesn't feel like a threat, much less with that buddy of his. None of them do.

I don't see the problem in continuing working with them for the time being. Aside from having to dull myself a little, to avoid getting another scoldin'.

Coin's good and it gives me something to do.
