Brief History

 
In Free City, the strength of your magic is everything. To gain the most powerful magic possible, that is the goal of many who reside there. But for some, magic does not come easy. And for others, it never comes.
 
Though two people of magically-inclined blood have a great chance of producing a child just as skilled as them, there is no guarantee to it.
 

Childhood

 
Sheldra was born to a family of mages, with deep ties in Free City. Despite this, he possessed no magical talent or skill whatsoever. Growing up, his parents had high expectations, hoping that he would one day surpass them.
 
But, as every year passed they grew more frustrated. Sheldra was not able to use a single spell, not even a cantrip. They felt such great shame at this that they hid the fact from everybody they knew.
 
At the age of fourteen, Sheldra was booted from his home, only given a sack of gold to take with him. To everybody in Free City, Sheldra experienced an unfortunate accident, and perished.
 

The Seekers' Guild

Soon after, Sheldra made his way to the Empire, where he would be treated just as well as anyone else.
 
With the gold he was given, he bought himself a greatsword and some other belongings, and set off to join the Seekers' Guild, where he would try and make money.
 
His first few missions were hectic, to say the least. He was completely untrained with a greatsword, and barely had the strength to swing it. Through it all, he persisted, trying to grow stronger as best he could.
 
Over the next two years, he found himself comfortable wielding the weapon, and even others if necessary.
