Ferias was born around 2200 of the Second Age, around 500 years after the founding of Rivendell. He remembers well the suffering the Orcs caused his family and kin, when they tortured and tormented them in their dark dungeons. With the overthrow of Dol Guldur five years ago, Ferias managed to free his parents, but their faces were forever marred by the paid they suffered, and they soon passed over the Sea to the Undying Lands.

This is the seed planted in Ferias' soul: as long as such evil remains in Middle Earth, he cannot contemplate following his kin over the Sea - and he suspects the power of Dol Guldur is rising again.

However, as with all High Elves, Ferias does not regain lost Hope during a Fellowship Phase, and will ultimately either succumb to the Shadow or, tiring at last of mortal things, sail over the Western Sea and depart Middle Earth forever.
