Physical Description

Arpeggio is a mute male Air Genasi with white hair with silver low lights. On his forehead an opaque white gemstone, embedded in his skin. His skin tone is a pale blue and his irises are a slate gray. He usually appears in a cheerful mood but never really smiles. In fact never really moves his mouth other than to eat. Of his expressions, his most apparent are happiness and anger, expressed through his eyebrows and intensity in his eyes. A light breeze tends to accompany him, often causing his instruments (a lyre and a flute) to make gentle noise. Although he talks to some people through ASL, he tends to communicate through performance or illusions, for it reaches a broader audience.

Personal history

Abandoned at an early age, Arpeggio had to learn at a young age how to protect himself and heal himself. For a long time, he hated interacting with people, their methods of communicating confused him. He didn’t have anyone to teach him the basics of languages when he was young. This led him to rely on his natural talent in the arcane, until one day he stumbled across a band of traveling minstrels. Unlike others he had limitedly interacted with, they seemed to offer things he wanted or needed, without thought of return. They taught him how to read, however, he personally rarely talked, falling back on his spells to give context clues as to what he wanted to convey. They named him Arpeggio for his use of incorporating their common musical scales in his illusory magic to convey emotions and thoughts. Eventually getting so good at this form of communicating that some saw it as entertainment, he gave back to the minstrels by joining their band for some time by telling stories in his own illusionist way. He began to pick up talent in the musical arts from the interactions with the minstrels, who urged him to seek further education of his talents. One night, they traveled to a wealthy town, but did not set up for performance. Before he knew what was going on, they gave him their savings and dropped him off at a bard college, saying that it was for his own good. While feeling abandoned once more by the only family he’s come to learn, he found solace in knowledge he gained from his studies. Vowing to repay the kindness, Arpeggio set off, to benefit the world in whatever ways he can. For that, he needed knowledge of the outside world, beyond where he grew up and the towns in which he performed. He wanted to find the truly dark and miserable, uplift them, make life better for those who face challenges day in and day out and show them that yes, there are people who care.

He is embarrassed of his voice, as it is shakey, cracky and deep, making it difficult for people to understand especially with how he tends to talk very soft hoping no one actually hears his voice.

Never grew up with a family, lived in the wilds since he can remember, this made him skittish to social interactions for a long while but he is getting better.
