Born in a small port town, Dione always felt she was destined for something greater than the life of a fisherman.

Dione Ariti was born to Theodora and Alcander Ariti in the small port town of Kastri. The youngest of seven children, Dione seemed destined for an unremarkable life abord one of Kastri’s many fishing vessels, or perhaps sent away to seek her fortune on a passing merchant vessel.
 
Dione however didn’t seem to care much for that destiny. From a young age her bravery and leadership shone through as she quickly befriended many of the town’s other children, leading them on expeditions into some of the abandoned buildings and cave systems surrounding Kastri; her crowning achievement being a daring night raid on a passing merchant vessel rumoured to be carrying a shipment of sweets.
 
As she reached adulthood however Dione became restless, working on her father’s boat bored her and she dreamed of doing great things, conquering foes, saving innocents - that sort of thing. She felt she was destined for more.
 
So, when a rampaging bull would have gored the towns chief nobleman had Dione not wrestled the creature to the ground, she took it as a sign, graciously accepted the nobleman’s offer of payment, spent it all on weapons, armour and supplies before boarding the first ship to Dread Reef.
