A child of affluence, Sofia was raised in the frigid climes of the Triumvirate city of Mamensky, to the far north of Terrenos. The daughter of wealthy merchants, Sofia was raised without lack, but cursed by distant parents and a lonely upbringing. Sofia's light was her sister, Eliza. Both were prone to seeing the strange presences that existed between words and ideas, but ultimately Sofia's sister became ill, and beyond the ability of chirurgeons or clerics to treat. Having exhausted their means trying to find a cure for her strange malady, Sofia's parents ultimately turned their back on their daughter. Now, she lies wracked with agony, and Sofia has begun a dangerous quest, seeking forbidden knowledge in a desperate attempt to save her sister from a disease which even the Gods themselves cannot ameliorate.

Appearance
Physical Description
Thin and waifish, Sofia is a physically underwhelming specimen. She does not even make up for her lack of strength with agility, and tends to keep her distance from physical confrontation due to this.
Body Features
Sofia bears lightning scars on the front of her right shoulder, from where she was caught by the full force of Zitonai's breath.
Physical quirks
Sofia has a small birthmark in the shape of the constellation Astellis behind her right ear.
Apparel & Accessories
Sofia wears a great deal of unique apparel, and her artifacts come primarily in the form of small accessories. She wears a small black choker with embroidered silver eyes and no clasp, a large collection of rings, and a black robe with many pockets both inside and out.
Special abilities
While she cannot control it, Sofia's physical form has reached some degree of mutability. When deeply affected by the influence of the eldritch, other minds and bodies come forward in the forms of former investigators of the occult.
Mentality
Mental Trauma
Alisa's ailment has taken a severe psychological toll on Sofia, and left her with a deep-seated fear of losing those close to her, especially to illness or disease. When her friends' lives are in danger, she often becomes desperate and acts irrationally, trying to protect or save them even if it leaves herself at risk.
Additionally, her lonely upbringing and lack of friends beyond her sister have left her deeply self-conscious and anxious when it comes to maintaining relationships with others. She is quick to blame herself when conflicts in interpersonal relationships arise, and often tries to change her behaviour to avoid pushing others away. Perhaps her desire to change in order to please others has something to do with her strange shift in biology...
person.sexuality
Sofia is not entirely sure what her sexuality is. She has never been all that interested in romance and knows for certain she has no interest in men. Though has not found the words for it herself, the most accurate label would be demiromantic and grey-asexual, with an attraction only to women and feminine-identifying non-binary people.
person.gender_identity
Sofia fully identifies with her assigned sex at birth, female. The other minds that occasionally usurp her own follow a wide array of identities, though she herself has no recollection of what happens when the other researchers are in control.
Known Languages
Sofia is fluent in Common, Deep Speech, Abyssal, Infernal, Celestial, Primordial, Draconic, Undercommon, and Minor Eldyrion. She has also found herself able to read any and all writings since her research began. Additionally, she has created several ciphers for various languages, and uses them to encrypt her records of those secrets too dangerous to fall into the wrong hands.
Personality
Motivation
Sofia's deepest and most driving goal is her desperate hopes of saving Alisa. Sofia's sister means more to her than anything else, and she has vowed to leave no stone unturned in the search for a cure to the malign ailment with which Alisa has been struck.
Quotes & Catchphrases
"If there's one thing I've learned from my studies, it's that... I'm sure there's a better way for me to phrase this that will come across as less ominous and creepy, but you're never truly alone."
"I was a prisoner!"
"I say, my chap, are you alright good fellow? You seem to be a bit addled in the head, and uh... made of wood." - Sir Varengoss Von Valenheim
"I'm sorry." - Sofia, moments before dropping her own defenses to move Phaes to safety.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Sofia has an intricate and deep understanding of the occult from her research, but her other attempts at finding a cure have also educated her well in medicine, history, religion, arcana, and several other fields.
Aside from her physical and social shortcomings, Sofia is also rather inept when it comes to cooking. While Alisa had a love and talent for baking, Sofia never quite got the hang of it, instead sticking to brewing tea and coffee.
Likes & Dislikes
Favourite Scents: Fresh pine needles and Alysa's baking.
Personality Quirks
Sofia often talks to herself under her breath, seemingly to things that aren't there. Since joining the Wildcards, she has done her best to suppress this habit, worrying they might not like her if they discovered the true depths of her strangeness.
She also has a few small cultural superstitions from the Triumvirate she follows, such as always giving some amount of payment for a gift, and refusing to turn back for something she forgot unless absolutely necessary (and even then, she always sits in silence for a moment before leaving again).
Hygiene
Sofia keeps good personal hygiene, in part a habit leftover from her medical research. While on the road, when proper bathing is not an option, she uses the minor power stored within one of her trinkets to keep herself and her clothes clean.

Social Aptitude
Unfortunately for Sofia, she has never made friends easily. Not only does she lack any great depths of charisma, but something about her is faintly unnerving. After meeting the Wildcards and travelling with them for some time, she began to open up and thought she had at last found close friends. However, after Morthak informed her she talks to much her budding confidence has been crushed, and she has fallen back into the quiet loneliness that she is so used to.
Since that incident, Morthak has spoken with her about it, and Sofia's confidence has begun to return.
Hobbies & Pets
Sofia has a great love for properly brewed teas and coffees, and before Alisa fell ill she had procured a rather impressive collection. She would often insist on brewing it herself, rather than allowing servants to prepare it for her. On the road, however, she has not had any time to properly enjoy the simpler pleasures of life.
Speech
Sofia's speech is typically rather formal, though on her travels it has roughened up slightly. She carries a moderate Triumvirate accent, though only when speaking common. When speaking in the other languages she has a talent for, her her accent is very neutral, though her pronunciation can be stiff at times.
